UK REACH: Restriction decision on lead in ammunition

The Government have now published their response to the HSE review of lead in ammunition a link to which is included below.

It is as expected although the transition period is now three years rather than five but commencing next summer.

Shotgun ammunition remains the major issue and the rising cost of already expensive alternative ammunition.

Discussions with government, the associations, the trade will now commence.

UK REACH restriction decision

Minister Emma Hardy MP, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has decided to restrict the sale and use of lead in ammunition, within the framework of the UK REACH regulation.
