Comments / Other information The carbine featured here was made in Budapest and is a variation of the cavalry carbine “M95 Repetierkarabiner mit Stutzenring” as it has a stacking hook and a bayonet lug. This was probably altered between 1907 and 1909. It was rechambered to the later 8x56R M31 “Spitzer” cartridge after 1931 like the vast majority of M95 rifles and carbines. It appears to have be re-barrelled at some point but retains the original rear sight marked in Schritt or paces rather than in meters. There is a solitary Albanian eagle on the receiver indicating it may have been part of post WWI acquisitions
