Below is a statement from the Home Office regarding the issue of deregulating Sound Moderators which was pending. We have raised the issue of non FAC airgun regulators as have other members of BSSC.
The legislation will take some time to draft and pass through parliament.

The Minister for Policing and Crime Prevention has made a Written Ministerial Statement to announce the publication of the Government response to the consultation run by the previous Government last year on removing sound moderators from firearms licensing controls.
The Government response confirms that the Government has decided to remove sound moderators from the requirement to be licensed, although it will be a requirement for a person to be in possession of a valid certificate in order to lawfully possess a sound moderator. The Government’s view is that this change should be made through primary legislation, as soon as Parliamentary time allows.
