| 14. Comments / Other information | The Uzi is a compact and simple firearm that was inexpensive to make. The location of the magazine in the pistol grip was based on the designer Uziel Gal’s experience of combat, he understood that in the dark and in stressful situations it was easiest to bring both hands together to reload the weapon. A full-sized Uzi was famously displayed by a US Secret Service agent during the 1981 assassination attempt of President Reagan.
