Comments / Other information | The MP5SD incorporates a lightened bolt to ensure reliable cycling and a shortened 146 mm (5.7 in) vented barrel surrounded by metal mesh packing within the aluminium shroud followed by conical baffles in the forward chambers. This system allows the use of standard 9mm supersonic ammunition at subsonic velocity, the vented barrel bleeds off propellent gas to reduce the bullet speed so it does not generate a sonic shockwave. The design of the suppressor allows for the firearm to be discharged with water inside should it be used in or near to water.
