Rook & Reindeer Christmas Charity Shoot
Stourport on Severn, Saturday 3rd December 2022

Dear Competitors

A very big thank you for taking part in our 6th Christmas Rook and Reindeer shoot in aid of charity.

We were once again privileged to be able to use the range at Stourport on Severn which is an excellent venue; it provides a covered firing point with plenty of room for all.

I would very much like to thank the Committee and Members of Stourport on Severn Rifle club for allowing us the use of their range, and all those who attended and supported a very worthy cause.

The day was cold in the firing point but outside it was sunny and reasonably warm.

This year we attracted 13 entrants shooting in 3 categories, Historic Rim Rife, Historic Central Fire and an Any Rifle class.

The same targets where used for all 3 matches, a rather splendid Rook complete with Top Hat was the 25m target and a Reindeer was used at 20m

Both targets are a difficult with open sights but everyone stepped up to the challenge and had a most enjoyable morning.

Additionally, a free entry prize shoot was held for all entrants of the main event.

This shoot was for .22R/F rifles with iron sights at 25m, the objective was to hit a white patch on a standard black bull target within a 10-minute shooting period.

The winner being decided by the least amount of shots on target.

The winner being Geoff Ormerod who only shot ONCE.

Second place went to Rich Morris with 5 shots on the target.

Match 1 Historic Rim Fire was won by Paul Smith achieving a score of 67.

2nd Place was shared with Jon Hay, Fred Boulton and Tony Cattermole al on 60
