HBSA Midland Rook & Rabbit Rifle Competition

Thank you all for competing in this our 3rd Spring Midland Rook and Rabbit competition.

Again proving to be a very popular meeting, with 17 individual participants and most gratifying we had 3 new entrants.

As always, I would very much like to thank the Committee and Members of Stourport on Severn Rifle club for allowing us the use of their range.

The Spring weather started looking like it might rain but fortunately it remained overcast and dry.

We attracted 14 entrants, who shot a total of 54 matches.

As it was so close to Easter Hot Cross buns were provided along with some excellent biscuits from Mrs Boulton, plus tea and coffee from Chris Gray.

I must congratulate and commend all those who attended, everything ran extremely smoothly.

Except we had a lot of Cross Shooting and additional shots at this meeting, its easy done but if you do Cross please mark the offending card.

Following the change in targets and the continued method of “Best 10 from 13” the scores have improved with a number of 140 maximums being achieved.

I think this is due to the aiming mark at 50m being far easier to see and the competitors are not as stressed as when we shot 4 sighting and match cards, 26 shots in total as opposed to 40 approx.
