HBSA Midlands
Rook & Reindeer Christmas Charity Shoot

Wedgnock, Warwick, Saturday 29TH November 2025

Dear Competitors

A very big thank you for taking part in our 10th Christmas Rook and Reindeer shoot in aid of charity.

We were once more privileged to be able to use the MLAGB range at Wedgnock, Warwick. I would very much like to thank the Committee and Members of the MLAGB for allowing us the use of their range, and all those who attended and supported a very worthy cause.

This year the weather gods delivered a downpour over night and into the early morning. This resulted in the ground being very boggy so it was decided to abandon the 25m section and shoot at 50m only, which meant all the equipment and competitors stayed dry.

The Rook & Reindeer targets had been reduced in size and mounted on an old target one above the other, intended for 25m. They proved to be difficult but everyone rose to challenge.

This year we attracted 16 entrants (with a further 9 committed elsewhere) shooting in 4 categories, Historic Rim Fire, Historic Central Fire, Any Rifle pre-1960 and Any Rifle post 1960.The same targets where used for all 4 matches, a Rook & Reindeer, and a standard round bull and shot at 50m.

The results and details of rifles used, may be seen here >>>>

Additionally we attracted a brand new competitor, which was very nice to see.

This event is a chance to take part in an informal shoot, use as many rifles as you can fit in and to raise money for our chosen charity.

As a result of the entrance fees, and donations, minus expenses etc.
the current sum of £305 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
(We also donated £100 from the Visit to Westley Richards last week)
That brings our grand total donated over the last 10 years to £2850

I would like to wish all those who took part
A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

And to thank you all for your continued support.

Finally.
I hope everyone had a good day and that we see you all next year.

Best regards
Paul Smith
