Stourport on Severn, Saturday 2^nd October 2021

Dear Competitors

Thank you all for competing in this our 16^th Annual Midland Rook and Rabbit competition.

We were once again privileged to be able to use the range at Stourport on Severn.

This year we had 19 individual entrants entered inti 68 matches, 136 match cards.

Unfortunately, 3 individuals had to cancel at the last moment due to Covid lockdown and other issues.

As always, I would very much like to thank the Committee and Members of Stourport on Severn Rifle club for allowing us the use of their range.

This was the 13^th match to take place at Stourport On Severn (not including the American and Christmas shoots), I still do not know where the years have gone.

Unfortunately, the rain was persistent pretty much all day long, but overall we remained dry, although we did have to hang the targets up to dry off.

This year we originally attracted 19 (17 in 2020) entrants who would have shot 68 (57 in 2020) matches.

Which means this year was a again an improvement over 2020

Fortunately, the usual supply of superb biscuits and tea was once more available.

Things have not quite returned to normal but I think we all nearly there.

This year the shooting program was changed due to the success of the modified course of fire we introduced last year.

Each detail consisted of 13 shots at both 25m & 50m with the best 10 shots being counted at each distance.

This was big a improvement and helps the running of the meeting and competitors are lees stained at the end of the day.

Christmas Charity Rook & Reindeer Saturday 4^th December 2021, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

I have no idea what this will involve so watch out for more information.

Next year’s Rook & Rabbit @ Stourport on Severn Saturday 1^st October 2022

Also there are plans to hold an Historic Championship meeting in the Spring of 2022, with matches out to 100m and possibly turning targets at 25/50m.
