Wedgnock Range, Saturday 4th July 2026

Dear Competitors

Thank you all for competing in this our Annual Summer Midland Rook and Rabbit competition.

This meeting continues in popularity, with 17 individual entrants using 16 firing points. One day we will manage to fill all 22 firing points.

As always, I would very much like to thank the Committee and Members of Wedgnock Range MLAGB for allowing us the use of their range.

The summer weather was warm turning to hot with a reasonable wind blowing all day.

The 17 participants shot 53 matches, a total of 128 cards. The results can be seen here >>>>

This was our fourth visit to Wedgnock following our move from Stourport.
It suits our requirements and we are left to our own devices.

I must congratulate and commend all those who attended, everything ran exceptionally smoothly.

We did have a small number of Cross Shooting events which resulted in additional shots on some targets.

Also 99% of the targets had been correctly identified which was marvellous.

Special mention must go to Geoff Ormerod, he has recently been diagnosed with an eye problem, which has effected his right “shooting eye”. So he has converted to shooting left handed, and to his credit shot very well. A lesson to us all, don’t give up “ADAPT”. (I did wonder if he should have always shot Left Handed his scores seemed better).

I hope everyone had a good day, and look forward to seeing you on Saturday September 26th.

A big thank you must go to Jon, Andrew, Tony, Nick and Geoff who acted as Range Officers throughout the day. It is very much appreciated.

Best Regards
Paul Smith
