HBSA Bisley Rook and Rabbit Competition May 4th 2025

May 4th was bright but cold, the balmy sunny days just past had truly past and so the 9 shooters who had brought along their trusty Rook and Rabbit rifles were all warmly dressed as they assembled under cover (and out of the warming sunshine) on the firing point of Melville Range. Previous matches have taken place on the nearby Time Limit Range which if such a thing can be said is more homely, more empathetic and generally less aesthetically brutal than Melville but that is for another day.
The day consisted of 7 matches for different types of rifle (see here) shot concurrently. Each match consists of 10 scoring shots from the sitting position at 50 Metres followed by 10 scoring shots standing at 25 metres both within 10 minutes.
A selection of lovely rifles from varied makers including Holland and Holland, BSA, LSA, Dobson, Winchester, Snider and Colt appeared and they produced many scores that belie their age, the results can be seen here >>>>
