Dear All

Thank you to the many people who have got in touch with me with lovely messages and memories of my Dad. They have been enormously comforting. I am going to miss him very much and it has been very helpful to me to try and start remembering him as the man he was before illness took its toll.

Unfortunately I went down with Covid a few days after Dad died and have only just got back into circulation. My Dad left very firm instructions that he wanted no funeral of any kind and I am respecting those wishes. He was not, however, averse to considering whether his death might be an opportunity to raise funds for good causes and so I have set up two Just Giving pages in his memory.

One is for Dementia UK who provide invaluable support in the form of their Admiral Nurses who are available to give advice and wise counsel.

The other is Water Aid UK, which was a cause close to Dad’s heart and to whom he regularly used to ask me to give a donation on his behalf.

I would be entirely delighted if anyone does feel that they would like to give a donation to either of these charities in Dad’s memory. Thank you very much on his behalf.

I am still thinking about how best to celebrate Dad’s life in accordance with his wishes and will keep you posted on this.

Thank you all once again for your support and kindness and please do feel free to circulate this message as widely as you wish so that Dad’s final achievement in a long life will be to raise money for two very good causes.

Best wishes and thank you again.

Jo
